Fixed Prothesis | Removable

Prosthodontics is the branch of dentistry focused on the restoration and maintenance of oral function through prosthetic devices.  

Dental prostheses can be on teeth or on implants. They can also be fixed or removable.  

Fixed prostheses on teeth can be classified as follows: Partial or Complete, that is, crowns (replace the entire tooth) and bridges (replace several teeth).  

Similarly, fixed prostheses can be designed to replace one (single) tooth or multiple teeth. 

 Removable dentures are another alternative. They can replace segments of teeth or complete dental arches. In certain situations, two to four implants may be used to support a removable prosthesis.
